I say yay to going out with my friend Nate earlier and having a great time.  I haven't had that much fun for awhile. Grin

This is going to sound really stange but oh well...LoL  Me and my boyfriend broke up at like 3am...but I actually feel a lot better now then I have for the past few weeks.  We're still really good friends and we still really care about eachother. I told him that I'd rather have him in my life as just a friend instead of not having him in my life at all and if he ever needed anything I'd be there for him.  So even though I'm no longer dating the love of my life...I'm still okay Smiley  So even if something goes wrong with a relationship you're in don't just get out of it as fast as you can.  Stay with the person and help them through the things they're going through.  That's the only way to have a good relationship.  Even if it is just as friends.

i totally second everything you just said!
I just reconnected with an ex recently, and after not talking for over 4 years, it's like we're best friends again.  it's so cool to be able to be on good terms with someone even if you can't still be "together."  Much more productive than being bitter for years to come.

I also say yay to coming up with a new idea for a story!! i'm a writer and i've been in the same story for about six months and 75 pages... but i'm going to kind of put it on the back burner for a while as i start this new one, because the idea is too good to throw away.. and it's based in reality so i won't get writer's block.

i have plenty of personal yays but this one tops the list:

I have achieved my #2 musical goal-- I'm now the bass player in an established band!  I had an audition-type thing last night and they kind of automatically decided I get to play with them... I'm so excited.  You have no idea. http://www.rkstar.com/artists/?ftmn is their link on my friend Dan's locla music site... woohoo!

(the #1 musical goal is to record a Queen tribute album... we'll see what happens there.)

Yay to finally getting on MSN messenger so I can talk to my brother on the weekends, and unexpectedly hearing from some old friends as soon as I signed on!

for a while i was feeling like i didn't really belong in the christian community because, despite my faith, it seems people don't want to accept me because of my opinions (SEE "Sports Night" episode #2 "The Apology." Dan: "Actions are immoral.  Opinions are not."), but then over the past few days I've been getting emails and myspace messages from complete strangers who are Christians and who really support me regardless of opinions.  It's just nice.

Congratulations Ash!!  I just looked at that link you posted - unfortunately I'm at work so I can't listen to the music clip but I'm very interested in what they sound like.  How would you describe the music?  Are you getting to know the songs pretty well yet?  Are you going to be doing any backup vocals as well?  Tell us all about it!

it's very influenced by classic rock, kind of the same stuff i grew up and learned to play bass listening to, so i'm adapting well... I'm listening to the songs a LOT to get them stuck in my head, and making up bass lines to the songs... Once I get to know them better I may sing backup as well.  It's a relief to be playing someone else's songs and not mine, because then I don't care as much if they don't sound perfect.  We're covering "All Along the Watchtower" at our next show (*COUGHJanuary 22nd at King's Tavern in Saratoga it's 21+ so people who are legal better comeCOUGH*) and that's really fun.. anyway that's about it about the band for now...

my yay today is that my road test is wednesday so i might finally, at the age of 20, get a license and thus get a life!

Holy moly, how have you been living in upstate NY without a license?!  It's not exactly the land of abundant public transportation.  Hope you pass on the first try!

Albany is totally the land of abundant public transportation!  You can't get very far outside of albany, but man anywhere I ever want or need to go in albany or schenectady, there's a bus that goes there.  It's amazing!  Alright, maybe I just don't go that many places, but it seems pretty awesome to me...

I hope I pass too, thanks!  I think I have about a 50/50 chance being that I can't parallel park, but the roads are bad so I think that'll work in my favor as something to excuse my bad skills.

Wow, I can't even imagine being without a license for so long!  I went home for 3 weeks over Christmas and didn't have a car and I felt so hindered.  But then again, my hometown in Nebraska doesn't exactly have abundant buses, taxis, or anything of the sort.  Good luck on your test though.  And if it makes you feel any better, I never had to parallel park on my driving test.
