OK, so making up for lost time....

QUICK INTRO OF MYSELF:
Sorry, I've been gone for four days.  I went to a hippie jamband festival in Lawrence, KS called Wakarusa Festival(www.wakarusafestival.com).  Yes, I'm a hippie like that (but I'm a neo-hippie, so I don't have the tie-dye, the dreads, or the body odor).  There I had the opportunity to see over 70 bands (I think 72 total showed up) and of that I probably caught 20-30.
I am a die-hard Anything But Joey fan, have been for a long time.  I am VERY excited about Friday when Jupiter Sunrise comes to Lawrence, KS to play with them and Ludo (another killer rock band from St. Louis, check them out at www.ludorock.com).  My friends in ABJ have talked about Jupiter Sunrise basically non-stop since they got the opportunity to play with them a while back ago.  Whenever I bring them up around the bass player (Drew Scofield), his eyes light up and can probably talk for hours about the show.  It's almost silly how much they love JS.
I live in Overland Park, Kansas (which is just south of Kansas City) and other than Jupiter Sunrise and ABJ, I listen to a lot of Phish, Drive-By Truckers, Blue October, and just about everything else except country and rap (but I did see a few killer bluegrass bands this weekend).

right now my song of the day is...
"I Need More Love" by Robert Randolph and the Family Band

but let me explain why....
if you have never heard of Robert Randolph and the Family Band, you are missing out on the best lap steel guitar funk ever in the history of mankind.  I saw him at the festival I was at from the front f-ing row and I can honostly say I have never been more impressed with a musician in my life.  It was one of those events that I could sit here and write a small novel on but I don't think I could convey the entire event and all the feelings inside of me at that time.  It was just that amazing to see.

Don't Stop me Now by Queen... and i don't care if it is innuendo, the fact is, whichever way you interpret it it's a feel-good "i'm on top of the world" song.

Aaron and I rocked out at the Piebald show the other night, and we picked up their new CD.  So today, I'd have to say that it's Piebald's single, "Haven't Tried It" -- it's catchy, quirky, and irresistible, just like the Piebald guys themselves.  If you haven't heard or seen them yet, I definitely recommend it.

Fed Up
I don't know the song title, it's off of an EP they have out with no cover art or track listing.  It starts off with "This is our show now/for all the suits who talked us down."

visit them online at www.fedup.net so you can talk about them and know who they are BEFORE their big upcoming tour with a large religious-oriented band that just so happens to have the initials AA that I don't think has been announed yet.  They are a VERY good punk/rock band from Kansas City and if you like that kinda stuff, go to their website and give them a try.

Clarification - I tried to go to that website (fedup.net) but it does not exist.  Also tried fed-up.net and fedup.com.  No go.  Where is this elusive website you speak of?

sorry, the fed-up website is www.feduprock.net and the song is "Taste Of Things To Come"
tour plans for them are not up there yet but its happing late this year

the song is "Master Suzuki" by Jupiter Sunrise

yes, my song of the day is by Jupiter Sunrise which is the whole reason we are all here.

Saving the super-sappy details, the Jupiter Sunrise took a bunch of friends and made them feel a lot better last night.  We are scared for a friend of ours whose grandmother just died and when we needed a  musical release we listened to JS.  I'm now uber-excited about seeing the show Friday.

...and if you want to see something kinda cool Jupiter Sunrise related, go check out Anything But Joey's webpage(www.anythingbutjoey.com) and look at the new image on the main page.  Trust me when I say they LOVE Jupiter Sunrise.

"Many of you are saying 'jupi-whowha'?  Well, let me clear it up for you.  This is one of the best bands we have ever seen, heard, or played with in our lifetime and you need to know who they are so you can brag to your friends and say something stupid like 'uh, I was like, at their shows over a year ago!'  So... buy this album (and ours) and enjoy"  -- ABJ main page

Wow, that was really sweet of them to put that up on their website!  And sweet of you to say such nice things about JS.  I love Master Suzuki too, good song.

That's awesome on the aBJ site!

I love Master Suzuki too, but the guys (specifically Ben) refuse to play it live, hence I've never seen it.  Very disappointing.
