His arraignment on these charges was today and I (along with hundereds and hundreds of people) went to support him. It was amazing to see so many people together supporting same sex marriages and one another. I think I impressed Brendan. Hehe. The only argument against gay marriage is a religious one. Which, whatever you believe, whatever. But this is America, this is a multi-racial, multi-cultural, multi-religious country. You cannot base something on  a national level on the beliefs of one religion. Some people can argue it's the biggest religion, but it doesn't matter. This is supposed to be the home of the free, so why should everyone be judged under the rules of a religion they don't even follow? As politicans, they need to stop being selfish. Bush said that the gay community had no right to define marriage, I don't believe he should have the right either. I am a Christian, yes. I am not a closed minded one who thinks that the government should be run based on religious beliefs. I think that gay marriages should be legal because no one has any right to stop them. That's my two cents. I can explain it much better in person. But I say yay to being able to discuss an issue like this with people who agree with me as well as people who don't. Especially when both of us can disagree, but still see where the other is coming from. Those are good debates, they make me happy.   I also say yay to Streetlight Manifesto tonight!
