This is ourselves under pressure. liv YaBB God/goddess     Gender: Posts: 787 Re: what do you say yay to? 2 « Reply #800 on: Jul 9th, 2004, 10:27am » Quote Modify Oh man, one huge yay to the Red Sox game last night!  What a night!  My bosses have four season tickets so I got to take Ben and two friends.  We were in the front row of the roof boxes with a splendid view of the field before us and the Boston skyline beyond.  The game, against the Oakland A's, was a total nailbiter, with the Sox losing their six-run lead in the space of just three innings.  By the ninth they were tied 7-7.  I was afraid the game was going to go all night and was ready to pack up, but at the bottom of the tenth Tim Mueller hit a grounder to center field, and the god-like Johnny Damon somehow managed to run from first to home!  Everyone was tearing their hair out and leaping out of their seats as he rounded third base.  He dove for home at the last possible second.  Just spectacular.  The whole experience (including the odd tradition of the whole audience singing "Sweet Caroline" in the eighth inning) made me just love Boston.   « Last Edit: Jul 9th, 2004, 10:28am by liv » IP Logged I believe in luck and money, I've got ten bucks and a honey ...
